Bo von Schéele, Ph D in psychology and professor in medical engineering greets you
The huge mistake school medicine (see Claude Bernard quotation below) is not to realize/understand that medical basic research (reductionstistic, simplistisc) scinetific paradigm CAN NOT effectively be applied on clinic applied research and practice when it concerns lifestyle related diseases/problems and individual biopsychosocial complexity and variations. The only solution to analyze and treat lifestyle related diseases is systems integrating biopsychosocial medicine (Engel, 1977) – what school medicine not yet systematically has developed and use. After waiting in 25-30 years where we instead of a developed observe even more systematic mis- and overuse of pharmacological substances (exceptions when it is used as swimming float or at life treating conditions). All this is a disaster for individuals and societies
Above is the reason for us to move out our biopsychosocial tools from are clinics domain (we have been working with since 1991) into education for all interested. We offer education and coaching to encourage people to tailor their use to the tool box. NO formal education is needed. Most text is in Swedish at the www.healthcreators.com. Lacking any kind of economical support from our society we will start up a foundation to be able to effectively developed the above more professionally. We have already started up a foundation for ADHD while this is a burning issue in terms of ”saving children from DSM V (see www.adhdskolan.com).
Welcome to a web site focusing on what we can do ourselves to promote health, prevent and treat lifestyle related diseases
The aim is (a) to describe how we ourselves can create health based on present knowledge which, according to me, we can trust if we are careful with how we use this knowledge as well as (b) “what do other scientists and clinicians do for their own health development as well as prevent and treat illnesses, if needed”.
I will also refer to our web sites www.skillsbeforepills.com and www.stressmedcenter.com (much in Swedish) bur also on old one www.biopsychosocialmedicine.com, where OICTOOLS (Observe, Identify and Change TOOLS) are discussed as well as ASPIRE, which describes focuses areas of concerns.
NB -> this web page will be activated ”in real” first during November 2013.
This web site is done for
- Individuals who what to improve their health but want well scientific based guidance
- Companies who want to be regarded as not just profit companies but also will emphasize they are concerned about ethics and moral in health issues.

1. Crucial questions;
1. Do main stream medical science meet real world needs related to life styles- and society related diseases (defined as autoimmune, cardiovascular, metabolic, stress, … most psychological diseases/problems)?
2. Have main stream medical science sufficient knowledge to deal/understand/investigate/treat complex biopsychosocial medicine diseases/problems – which is what urgent needed?
3. Have main stream medical science effective methodology for investigation, analyses of real world diseases at both normative and individual levels providing clinician with functional knowledge for their every day work – which is urgent needed?
4. Have patients a dignified human humane position in the health care systems in real (not only by words) as a resource of competence useful for all winner objectives?
5. An interesting question is also whether clinicians in real world health care find they get functional, satisfactory guide lines for their clinical work? Something they probably cannot question if they want to do a career – and perhaps also not articulate in terms of their dissatisfaction?
If # 1-4 is answered no – then why not? Is it really regarded as a problem? If so – any ambitions to solve it? Who get benefits from working for a solution?
Or – are pills the solution for peoples’ health? No, we can hardly see absence of health, development of illness/diseases as a function of absence of pills although markets are close to succeed towards implementing such believes. Medicine is defined as “art of healing” and not pills what most people refer to. In a modern way to express medicine we could say that “health promotion, illness prevention and treatment is tyo a large extent a function of our behaviours”.
While waiting for something to happen in main stream medicine we need to do something – create our own health.
2. Friends share their ways to create health
Here will text be inserted gradually
- My own way to create my health (and I am happy to say that much of the below is also valid for excellent behaviours of my family although they do not have a hard grown up background) to is based on what I write in www.biopsychosocialmedicine.com (old web page which will be replace by newer one) – see ASPIRE. I have a history of many psychological and biological problems at worsened I was immobilized by stress. ADHD, Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD) from early life and later in life severe osteoarthritis. But through using what I have found in western and eastern (especially nutrition, movement and breathing) medical sciences I am at 69 healthier than ever. During my years as stress medicine clinicians I have been myself a good example how we can improve health and prevent and treat illnesses. I said to my patients “you should not what I suggest while I say it BUT when you understand and see how you can do it”. To understand and see solutions is important by many reasons where one is related to motivation.
In spite of my osteoarthritis I run nowadays 30 minutes each day (I have this possibility) and do 30 minutes (light) weightlifting. A few years ago I could not walk without sticks. Probable reasons (except placebo of course) is my specific food (referring to Stig Bengmark’s writings), many years breathing training and careful movement exercises.
- Next … coming soon I hope (this web site is just started)
3. Companies who are interested to be certified as Health Creator Companies (HC2)– meeting specific defined criteria
If your company can meet specific criteria you can be certified by Stress Medicine AB. The idea is that when defined scientific criteria are met concerning level of efficacy for the product or service you get a statement from me. As a doctor in Psychology and Professor in Medicinal Engineering I will sign a certification which you have signed promising to follow what you and I have in clear words written.

Biopsychosocial stress medicine for people
Statement: Biopsychosocial Stress Medicine for peoples´ health related to life style- and society diseases is not associated with absence of pills but of knowledge about how to promote individuals own health as well as prevent and treat diseases. The latter in cooperation with health care systems where patients are regarded as coworkers provided with relevant education and practical guidance. Basically it is (i) what to do, (ii) how to do it in a way adjusted to each individual as well as (iii) how to influence own habitual behaviors – increase healthy ones and decrease unhealthy ones. Basic is knowledge implementation and find ways individuals can motivate themselves to what needs to be done.
Health was earlier regarded as a class issues but more and more now it is regarded as related to education and knowledge. But we do not that knowledge is not enough while knowledge is not always put into work – into behaviors. So how can we promote relevant knowledge as well as support, motivate and inspire to knowledge implementation – that is, individuals doing health behaviors?
Unfortunately this is mainly not a focus what society provides its individuals. In biopsychosocial medicine science (a growing scientific field moving from the backyard into the stage) we do have enough knowledge about what is constructive and destructive for health and now we need to find ways to communicate it. Unfortunately money seems to come before ambitions to promote health also in so called alternative medicine. Always the market is there to make profit. But health should be profit for individuals and societies and not for companies!
If you agree with the above basic statement are you prepared to join our forces – all of us thinking in this way? And more and more people are thinking in this way.
One way is to join a non-profit network for supporting health – www.healthcreators.com is one possibility which I started to developed recently – after 20 years of clinical work in stress medicine?
But it is not important who does what – important is that we do something which we can agree upon and thereby grow stronger and stronger – 4healthtools = (1) right food, (2) right motion, (3) right rest and sleep and (4) right breathing behaviors. Of course we can add functional psychological behaviors (planning, structuring life, ..) and social behaviors and interactions as well as ecological caring.
Next step is to start up communications about the above.
More info is coming here after May 2013
